Alcohol addiction is no different in Powys than any where else in the country. Alcohol is used for many things such as helping you to relax, socialise and in cooking. The majority of the population will drink alcohol at some point in their lives and will not be badly affected by it. However, there is a small but growing minority who develop a serious addiction to alcohol, which begins to take over their life and can lead to serious consequences. Alcohol Addiction in Powys' aims are to offer help to those who have a problem with alcohol, also to friends, relatives or colleagues of those addicted to alcohol and to offer training in alcohol awareness to professionals, employers, schools, clubs, counselors and anyone who might be interested. Any addiction can be controlled and I proven that people with an addiction to alcohol can learn to take control over it.
